One of the worst things about going to B-School is that you have to move at least TWICE within a 2-year span. This is especially true at Cornell University because it is located in the quaint little village of Ithaca in Upstate New York, where there is a 99% chance you will not stay here after graduation.
So to put it bluntly, having to move sucks. Moving is one of worst experiences in life, especially if you have accumulated significant amounts of furniture and housewares like me.
Moving is also quite expensive if you graduate unemployed and have to pay for the move out of pocket. The cost of renting a moving truck and shipping my car to California would have been about $2,600. The cost of hiring movers and driving my own car to California is about $2,100. The cost of replacing all my furniture (after selling the existing furniture) and shipping everything else by UPS would have been about $1,500.
I decided to pay the $600 premium to not have to deal with hassle of selling my stuff and then having to go buy new furniture and then having to assemble it (shout out to Ikea). It also was a pain in the butt trying to find movers because apparently, the end of June is the BUSIEST moving week of the entire year.
So everyone graduating in the future, keep that in mind when you plan to move out!
You seem to enjoy graphic design. Why don't you do that for a living?

Graphic design sounds like fun but I would at least like to try to utilize my MBA degree.
