Now that I have finished my MBA, people always ask, "Where are you going to work?". Like many other freshly-minted MBAs, I have no idea and am still trying to figure that out. But in my opinion, the more pressing question is, "Where am I going to live?".
Based on what I have seen, it seems that the importance of geographic location is often understated by MBAs when deciding what to do after business school. So what I have decided these past few months is that where I live is more important to me right now in my life than my job. I would rather live in a great place and have an okay job, than to have a great job and live in an okay place because down the road, it is easier to get a better job than to relocate to a different city.
After extensive thinking and reflecting, I narrowed down my choices to either San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX. Both places have warm weather, plenty of outdoors activities, great food, beautiful women and laid back people. In the end, I felt that moving to Austin would be going backwards since I was born and raised in Texas. So the only logical choice remaining would be to go out to San Francisco!
SF does not have warm weather. and it definitely does not have beautiful women. where are you getting your info from?

The 65 degree year round temperature in SF is better than the extreme hot and cold weather that you find elsewhere. And the women here are beautiful in a laid back, low maintenance sort of way. It all depends on what you are looking for.
