I haven’t written a new post in awhile because I recently moved into my NEW
apartment and have been unpacking and settling down. Ironically, despite all my
in-depth analysis about the optimal roommate
scenario, I have ended up living with three females. How did this happen
you ask? Well, after not finding a housing-share that I really liked during the first
few weeks in SF, I decided to get a 1-month sublet to hold me over while I continued
my housing search (never settle for crappy long-term housing!). My 1-month sublet was in the Mission neighborhood, which is
something of a mix between the East Village/Alphabet City in Manhattan and Oaxaca,
Mexico.
After I started living in the Mission (in my sublet), I felt
that this was the only neighborhood in San Francisco that I wanted to live,
which significantly reduced my options for housing. Therefore, I had to be a
little more flexible with my preferences, even if it meant giving up the
optimal roommate scenario. And to be honest, the three ladies that I am living
with are really chill and low drama (thus far). It is also pretty clutch that I have my
own bathroom so that I can take bubble baths at my leisure and I don’t have to
worry about someone else being inconsiderate and leaving the toilet seat down in the middle of the night.
And you might also be wondering why 3 women would choose to live with me (what a silly question might I add). As much as I would like to credit my boyish charm and good sense of humor, I have a feeling that it was my ability to make buttermilk pancakes from scratch that won them over. So fellas, if you ever want to impress the ladies or weird your guy friends out (yes Jae and Lou I'm talking about you), offer to make them homemade buttermilk pancakes!
Jae and Lou never make me pancakes.

Jae and Lou don't make pancakes. They just eat them. Ask them how mine were.
